I am currently the director of Weirholme Limited providing advise and custom-made client and service architectures to individuals and to small and medium size companies.

Previous experience

(1993) Telecommunications degree from University of Applied Science Braunschweig Wolfenbuettel

(1997) Information Technology degree from Technical University Ilmenau

(2000) Ph.D. Electrical Engineering, University of Liverpool. Mostly about statistical signal processing, a lot of mathematics and computer models. My claim to fame were the Givens rotation estimators for linearly mixed, independent information streams. Two main estimators, The MaSSFOC and MaSSTOC were developed. The underlying idea of entropy reduction may also be used to implement unsupervised learning machines.

(2000/1) Computer Scientist at XRCE Cambridge about mobile camera devices. At this time the mobile devices were just about to take off and become common place. In Cambridge we have tried out what the potential uses of those technologies were. What could you do with a Camera apart from taking photos? Well, some of it became reality. Unfortunately, this was the time when research had to become profitable and the XRCE site in Cambridge were closed down. The main site, XRCE in Grenoble, is still going strong.

(2001 - 6) Lecturer in Computer Science at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen responsible for the computer science route I taught mostly Java software developments and web application programming (PHP and databases)

(2006 - 9) Senior Developer at Barrie and Hibbert (now part of Moody's) in Edinburgh a lot of software development in C-Sharp for economic scenarios generation that were used by insurers to show their compliance with financial regulations and to value their assets over their lifespan. If you ever use Barrie and Hibbert's economic scenario generator pay attention to the credit, the LIBOR market and the mortgage based security models. At the time I did some work on valuing stochastic multi-factor jump models, i.e. the Heston model rather than the traditional Black-Karasinski one to credit valuing. Even then the real financial market was invalidating traditional models.

(2009 - current) Director Weirholme Limited
